Pelleas et Melisande

on BBC Two England

Debussy's great symbolist music drama is a tale of love, jealousy and murder. Written in 1902, it places the classic love triangle within a magical sound world. This performance is from the Welsh National Opera's acclaimed new production, conducted by Pierre Boulez in a rare collaboration with the celebrated German director Peter Stein (who also directed for television).
In French with English subtitles.
