with Professor Yigael Yadin
'And Joshua at that time turned back. and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor before time was the head of all those kingdoms.'
These words in the Bible and other references in ancient records inspired Professor Yadin, one of Israel's best-known archaeologists, to excavate the site of Hazor.
Among his discoveries were the huge Canaanite city which Joshua destroyed and later cities, including the citadel of King Solomon. He shows how, layer by layer, he brought to light one of the largest and most important archaeological sites in the Middle East.
