Featuring this week The Franchise Affair
Cleaning drains, beneath car bonnets, behind the hamburger counter, thousands of people are now working for themselves in the franchise game. They are putting up their own capital - often redundancy money - for the right to sell nationally advertised services and products. It costs them anywhere from about £6,000 for a mobile car-tuning agency, up to many times that for a big fast-food outlet. VALERIE SINGLETON reports on the booms and the pitfalls.
Plus Money Maker on how to make the best of your savings.
