Robin Ray introduces The Royal Concert
A recording of last Tuesday's annual St Cecilia's Day Concert, organised by the Musicians' Benevolent Fund in the presence of HRH The Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon Bernard Haitink conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra
The soloist in Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto is Kyung-Wha Chung. The orchestra also play the Overture ' Le Corsair' by Berlioz and the Fantasy Overture ' Romeo and Juliet' by Tchaikovsky.
