A dramatic reconstruction of a great naval feat of arms by Terence Horsley
On April 9, 1940, a British destroyer flotilla consisting of the ships Hardy, Hotspur, Hostile, Havoc, and Hunter, was cruising off the north-west coast of Norway between the Lofoden Islands and the mainland. Soon it was ascertained that a strong force of German destroyers had entered Narvik Fiord. The rest of the story with its Admiralty message to the Hardy's captain-' Use your own judgment'—is well known, and must rank as one of the great feats in British naval history.
Tertnce Horsley , with the help of Admiralty officials, has written this dramatic reconstruction of Narvik. You will hear the sort of things men said to one another, the way they thought, and how they actually went into action against a greatly superior force.
