Adventure for the Disabled by Guy Cole
The speaker contracted infantile paralysis when he was fourteen months old and the disease left him completely paralysed in both legs. In spite of this he offered to help to sail the 31-foot yacht Galway Blazer from England to America and in 1949 he and the owner, Commander Bill King, accomplished the passage together.
Arriving on the other side with very little money, he was able to maintain himself by a variety of jobs for the best part of two years.
