Anne Robinson lifts the lid on the results of the BBC's search for the greatest Briton of all time, voted for by the public throughout the last year. The list includes figures from popular culture alongside royals, athletes, politicians, scientists and soldiers, and is commented on by such pundits as Mariella Frostrup , oarsman Matthew Pinsent , singer/songwriter Billy Bragg and historian John Keegan.
The top ten is tonight revealed in alphabetical order. A debate on the merits of each ensues in the studio, and viewers can vote for their all-time Great Briton. Film biographies of each candidate are broadcast in the following weeks. Jeremy Clarkson argues the case for Isambard Kingdom Brunei on Tuesday at 9pm.
