A film portrait for St David 's Day of the Polish Community in Wales. What happens to a person's pride in his nation, or in himself, when he is forcibly separated from the land of his birth? Thirty years ago, the first Polish families settled in Wales. They are still with us. Some are integrated, others are not. No matter what their situation, their spirit seems undaunted. The White Eagle, crowned symbol of old Poland, is never far from their thoughts. In it they see a promise which colours their attitudes to life in exile and also their hopes for a different future.
