Sixteen teams battle it out in eight 60-overs-a-side matches today in the hope of taking another step towards the showpiece final at Lord's in September. The trophy is currently held by Essex, who won last year's final thanks to Stuart Law 's brilliant batting. Warwickshire reached the second round by defeating Ireland by 41 runs. Kent beat Cambridgeshire by eight wickets in the first round.
