Present-day Los Angeles is the seedy stamping ground for Roy Dillon, a small-time con man or "grifter". When his estranged mother Lilly comes to town for a racing scam, their reunion proves painful, especially when Roy's devious girlfriend Myra reveals her criminal inclinations.
The results prove brutally tragic.
