'Klondike or bust' was the slogan of 1897 - luring 100,000 stampeders through the treacherous wildernesses of Canada in search of gold. Four modern-day Canadians decided to follow in their footsteps - over the notorious Chilkoot Pass to Lake Bennett, where their home-built raft carried them 500 miles to Dawson City and beyond, to winter in the Arctic snows. With spring they completed their year's trip, across the ice to Marshall, by dog sledge. Theirs was a journey of a lifetime through some of the most treacherous and beautiful wildernesses in the world.
