With Brian Morton and Alyn Shipton. This programme features a recording from the 1997 Brecon Jazz Festival of American saxophonist Bennie Wallace , accompanied by Kenny Werner (piano), Dennis Irwin (bass) and Yoron Israel (drums). After spending seven years in Hollywood as a successful film composer, Bennie Wallace returned to performing. He talks to Alyn Shipton about his career, which began in 1971 when he made his debut with Monty Alexander. Music on CD comes from saxophonists
Martin Speake and Theo Travis , guitarist Bill Frisell and pianist John Taylor. And the programme pays tribute to
Thomas Chapin , the New York-based saxophonist and flautist who died recently at the age of 40. Producer Derek Drescher
