Australian Film Season: Sunday Too Far Away

on BBC Two England

starring
Jack Thompson and Phyllis Ophel
The harsh, competitive world of Australian sheep-shearers provides the unusual setting for this powerful film, the last in the season. Foley and 'Black Arthur ' battle it out for the position of ' top shearer' amid the boozy world of men isolated from civilisation. After weeks of work they are confronted with non-union labour undercutting them - a situation which leads to a violent climax.
