Meat and two veg have always been Britain's traditional fare-but perhaps for not very much longer. In the last year the wholesale price of fresh meat has gone up 43% and veg 10%.
Panorama this evening looks at why we are having to pay more for our Sunday joint, and what can be done about it. Is the answer to eat less, which might be better for us anyway? Or should we by better cooking try to make cheaper food tastier? Or is the answer to eat beans that taste like meat?
