* Ecstasy and the Secular Society

on BBC Radio 3

Three talks by Marghantta Laski , based on her 1974 Frederick Denison Maurice Memorial Lectures.
3: Trinaers, Aims and Targets Nietzsche saw the ordinary social conscience as the herd instinct in the individual. Miss Laski argues that ecstatic experiences create what can be called a higher conscience, one which leads to truth and altruism. She believes that to value both kinds of conscience is a richly challenging task.
