Appeal on behalf of the Ockenden Venture (Incorporated under the War Charities Act 1940) by Richard Todd
Contributions will be gratefully acknowledged and should be addressed to Richard Todd Esq., [address removed]
The Ockenden Venture exists to help the children of Europe's displaced persons camps to find education and training in England. These children are of Polish, Baltic, and other East European nationalities whose parents have existed since the war in refugee camps and are mostly former victims of Nazi labour and concentration camps. Since this ' venture ' became a recognised Charity in 1955, seventy-five children have been helped and there is a waiting-list of more than 250 wishing to leave the sordid and overcrowded life of the camps.
