First-round coverage of the World Indoor Singles championship from Preston Guild Hall. Scotland's Hugh Duff is attempting to retain his title, but some of his main challengers are in action today. Scotland's number-six seed David Gourlay faces England's Billy Jackson while tenth-seed Stephen Rees, from Wales, takes on Ireland's Jeremy Henry.

4.25 Ski Sunday
The year's biggest weekend of World Cup ski-racing features the men's downhill and slalom from Kitzbuhel in Austria. The fearsome Hahnenkamm downhill course is considered the toughest in the sport, while, in the slalom, Italy's Alberto Tomba has been on the Kitzbuhel podium every year since 1992.
