From Balmoral to the Isle of Wight, in palaces and private homes, she meets historical experts and descendents of those who knew the queen. Intertwined are her portrayals of Victoria, and reconstructions of diarists Charles Greville (Charles Dance) and Thomas Creevey (Timothy West).
