Come Home, Julie
At the age of 8, Julie Lartey was snatched from the couple who had fostered her since she was a few days old and smuggled out of Britain to Ghana. The snatch - made by her real parents - had a devastating effect on the foster parents - Evelyn Vose. now aged 70, and her husband Bill, who is 80. John Pitman told their story in a BBC film in 1976. Now Julie wants to come home to them. She can't tell her parents - will the Voses help?
They decide to spend their life-savings on a ticket, but never hear whether she has received it. They go to the airport not knowing whether Julie will be on the plane. If she isn't, they will go through all the heartache again. If she is, will they be able to pick up where they left off ten years ago? Reporter John Pitman Photography TONY BRAGG and NIGEL MEAKIN
