The Golden Fiddle

on BBC One London

Every year hundreds of fiddlers from all over Scotland meet for a weekend of traditional music-making-the climax being a gala concert, led by a massed orchestra of 250 fiddlers conducted by ex-Glasgow policeman Jimmy Moir.
Among the highlights is the presentation of the Daily Record Golden Fiddle to Scotland's new champion traditional fiddler, who will play his winning selection.
Fulton Mackay presents excerpts from this spectacular event which this year was held in the Music Hall, Aberdeen.
