Having finally made the break from home and family, Jim Mac laine becomes a full-time rock musician with The Straycats. With fairground hustler Mike as their road manager, the group soon hit the big time - with Jim as the main attraction. Gradually the pressures of work, high-powered money men and super stardom take their toll on Jim ... David Essex continues his fine portrayal of the young singer from That'll Be the Day, with memorable supporting performances from Adam Faith as the bisexual road manager and Larry Hagman as the evil American, Porter Lee Austin.
