As for the men's track events, the Kenyans dominated last year, winning the 800m, 1500m, and 3,000m steeplechase. The Brussels meeting, one of the season's top events, was inaugurated in 1985 in memory of the Belgian athlete who was killed in a car crash in 1976 having won 800m and 1500m silver medals at the Montreal
