A series of seven episodes continuing the extraordinary saga of one man's search for his roots. Episode 4 starring
1917: in San Antonio, Texas, 13 black soldiers are hanged as the result of a race riot in which 20 people died. Simon Haley has enlisted in the army after completing his college education and soon has to face up to the problems of racial tensions at home and on the battlefield.
