The Channel Tunnel may finally link Britain and France this year, but there are some differences between the two nations that will probably never be bridged.
This four-part documentary series takes a light-hearted look at the two countries' attitudes to subjects as diverse as driving, beauty, music, the monarchy, the seaside and death. In this firstfilm, Love and Sex, Ian Hislop , editor of Private Eye, tries to get to the bottom of the French view of adultery; there is a guide to the complex etiquette of kissing French-style; and a report on how it is possible for a French man to be both an intellectual and a sex symbol.
