Starring Jack Nicholson, Maria Schneider

Stranded in a remote desert outpost in Chad, television reporter David Locke returns to his hotel and finds a fellow guest has died of a heart attack. Impulsively he changes identity with the man, leaving for London then Munich to follow 'Robertson''s itinerary. He discovers that the seemingly conventional businessman is, in fact, a gun-runner and that he is now expected to deliver the goods in exchange for substantial payment... The complications of his new identity become more dangerous. Locke/Robertson moves slowly towards an inevitable fate in this mesmerising film.
