Memphis 1957: a motley trio of "white trash" drifters kidnaps the son of a local black businessman. They expect a quick payday but the boy's grandfather enlists the help of some local heavies. As tempers fray in the sultry heat, the net begins to draw in, but Reeny finds herself feeling increasingly drawn to her young captive.
