The seventh of eight programmes Swami Bhavyananda
After 30 years of working as a monk in isolated parts of India, SWAMI BHAVYANANDA was ordered to England to run the British branch of the Ramakrishna Order. When he arrived he found that the Maharishi and The Beatles had popularised meditation and Eastern religion and he was expected to be a guru. In tonight's programme he talks about the way a simple Indian monk learned to deal with people desperate for knowledge of Eastern spirituality.
