The Vikings

on BBC Two England

' Valiant, wrathful, utterly pagan people' is how the Vikings were described by one of their Irish victims. Certainly they spread terror throughout Europe, but they also spread ideas, skills and great craftsmanship, revealed in the Vikings exhibition which opened to the public at the British Museum today.
In tonight's outside broadcast, Magnus Magnusson visits the exhibition in the company of Dr
David Wilson, Director of the British Museum, and originator of this unique display of Viking life and times.
