For more than 50 years Johann Strauss , no less than the Emperor Franz Josef , ruled Vienna. He made his debut in 1844 at the age of 18, and was an immediate and lasting success. This programme, in the form of a memoir, recalls the highlights of his career. The memoir is fictitious: the story it tells is true.
