Nkosi's Story. Eleven-year-old South African boy Nkosi Johnson was born HIV-positive. Adopted by white foster mother Gail Johnson after losing his mother to an Aids-related disease, Nkosi became the focal point in Johnson's campaign to raise awareness of the condition, speaking movingly about his life at the Durban International Aids Conference.
For 18 months Inigo Gilmore filmed Nkosi's personal battle with illness, revealing his fear of dying and his mission to highlight the plight of millions of others living with Aids.
