Flower-delivery firm Interflora was run rather like a large family business until Doug McGrath was appointed as chief executive in orderto boost the company's profits. But he and the board who elected him had reckoned without florists Bev Wood and Rose-Marie Watkins.
In 1997 they rallied 1,200 flower-shop owners in an Extraordinary General Meeting to object to his proposals.
