A Service of Commemoration of the Battle of the Atlantic
Diplomats and veterans from countries once at war gather in Liverpool Cathedral to honour the men who perished in the Atlantic convoy battles, which helped shape the course of the Second World War. Ships from across the world will be moored in the port of Liverpopl, as the Prince and Princess df Wales join the congregation in prayers for peace and reconciliation. The Prime Minister,
John Major , will read the lesson. The preacher is the Archbishop of York, John Habgood. Fanfare trumpeters of the Royal
