Meet the Ancestors History 2000, a series of programmes for BBC TV and radio linked to events, museums and exhibitions, launches with this two-part special. It focuses on two digs in Spitalfields, London, that brought up contrasting finds, and blends new material with footage from last Thursday's opening to the new series and a special from last September.

Archaeologists and scientists examine two graves that share the same site but which are separated by a huge social gap and a thousand years of history.
