Without a Farnborough Air Show in 1969 this week's exhibition at Le Bourget becomes the major shop window for the world's aircraft industry; and it could be a vintage year for new aircraft.
Among those expected to appear for the first public demonstration are the two Concordes 001 and 002, the Jaguar Anglo-French military jet, the Boeing 747 jumbo jet, and several new helicopters.
