Chronicle's unique radio-controlled camera-with-wings has returned to earth with successful aerial pictures of the 1970 excavation at South Cadbury.
Also in this autumn round-up of the year's excavations are the skilful engineers of Silbury Hill; the brilliant exhibition of Celtic Art at the Edinburgh Festival; and the Sutton Hoo lyre-the first public appearance of the oldest stringed instrument in Europe.
