Bucknell's House: 27

on BBC Television

Barry Bucknell's weekly do-it-yourself TV guide to jobs in the home.

The built-in wardrobes can be fitted up inside with shelves and drawers. In the drawing - room there is a large Victorian mantel-piece into which a modern gas fire can be fitted. And the ceiling presents its problems: the plaster is bad but not so bad as to justify pulling it down: instead, battens hold it firmly in place and ceiling tiles are stuck on to the battens.
