In this programme Derek Cooper explores some classic English foods in the most English of counties, Hereford and Worcestershire. The beef, from the white-faced Hereford cattle, and the draught beer from Worcestershire hops, should strike right to the heart of every true Englishman. But do they? Are they the same as they used to be? Can you still get a pint of real ale?
DEREK COOPER sets out to discover, and on the way samples, the luxury of Evesham asparagus, the tang of Worcester sauce and the taste of the strange, boneless and increasingly rare river lampern.
