Building the Impossible Railway 2: The Horrid BC Business and The Great Debate
The Dominion of Canada faces changes of government and its first depression. These events occur in the late 1880s with the Confederation of Canada still in its first decade - and incomplete. British Columbia is holding out with a rail link to the rest of Canada as its price for joining the Confederation. This, with Yankee ambitions to the South, casts a shadow over the story of the struggle to build the railroad and solve Canada's early problems. Narrated by PIERRE BERTON
