Taylor Morris Mishkin is in despair. His wife is ill, his daughter has left home, he has backache and no work: his God has forsaken him. Then he finds a black man in his kitchen. Shock turns to astonishment and then sceptiscism when the black man announces that he is a Jew named Levine and also an angel.
