Film International: The Young Ladies of Wilko

on BBC Two England

(Panny z Wilka) starring
Daniel Olbrychski Anna Seniuk
Christine Pascal
Disillusioned with his humdrum life,
Wiktor Kubin tries to relive the idyllic summer of 1914. He returns to the country, and renews old acquaintances hoping to rekindle an old love. The young ladies of Wilko, treasuring the same memories, are eager to revive that romantic interlude of 15 years earlier.
Like his hero, Wiktor Rubin , director Andrzej Wajda turned his back on contemporary problems to create this charming portrait of a lost time.
Screenplay by ZBIGNIEW KAMINSKI

Directed by ANDRZEJ WAJDA
