A series made for audiences in the BBC regions and now seen for the first time throughout the country. Tonight from BBC West Death of a Landscape
The English landscape is treasure inherited from the 18th century. Wood, field and meadow are often dominated by elms planted in particular profusion in the West Country. Now they are dying of Dutch Elm disease. More than a million trees have been lost in Somerset alone and, as Jeremy James reports, the disease continues to spread.
