Morning Performance: A Little Night Music

Chopin may have made the nocturne famous, but he got the idea from the Irish composer John Field. Today's programme features music by both of them, together with lonesome American nightscapes from Kurt Weill and Aaron Copland, luscious nocturnal sounds from Delius and Bartok, and one of the most sensual and exotic night pieces ever written:
Szymanowski's Symphony No 3 (Song of the Night).
