Todmorden, Lancashire-the carnival goes on in spite of the rain and the news that one of the town's largest cotton mills is to close. Tonight's film looks at the lives of three mill workers who have just received notice of redundancy: Jacob Fielden, 56, senior foreman; Michael Redmond, 31, overlooker; and Sandra Walker, 20, weaver.
