Fading film star Giovanni returns home for his brother's funeral and is promptly drawn into a tangle of deceit and love as he tries to reconcile conflicting loyalties.
Marco Bellocchio caused a furore in Italy with his first film Fists in the Pocket, which was seen as a scurrilous if stylish attack on family life. Its star, Lou Castel , is reunited with Bellocchio in Those Eyes, That Mouth, an ironic, partly autobiographical, reappraisal of the constricting ties of the family and of the past.
