It was the time when she played in several of Herbert Farjeon 's revues: was welfare officer in a Canadian Red Cross hospital: and entertained the troops in Northern Ireland, Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, and India.
Joyce Grenfell was playing in Noel Coward 's Sigh No More when the war ended; she introduces songs from this and other revues. and many of the popular songs of the time, as well as straight music and the voices of many well-remembered wartime broadcasters.
