In celebration of its 100th anniversary, the National Geographic Society has combined rare archival footage with new material to produce an exciting programme which chronicles the awe-inspiring feats of some of this century's most daring heroes. Explorations featured include
Robert Peary 's historic journey to the North Pole and Richard Byrd 's amazing flight to the South Pole; Howard Carter 's discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb; and Jacques Cousteau 's pioneering studies of undersea life.
