The Doctor's Dilemma -
Cash or Care?
In a week's time the new GP's contract comes into force. The
Government believe that it will improve patient care by introducing the disciplines of the market place to an area of the health service in need of vital reform. Most doctors disagree. They claim that the new system will change them from family doctors to local businessmen and that patients will suffer. Tonight's programme examines the changing face of the local GP and asks will the new contract force doctors to reduce the quality of their care?
