The drama latent in the person of the elderly judge is always full of possibilities. In the case of Sir James Rigg, known for years on the Bench as ' The Nerveless Judge', these are exploited to the full.
Sir James Rigg has completed a career of legal administration, and is spending the twilight of his life in writing his biography. It is into this serene twilight of a busy life that something more melodramatic even than the most sensational of Sir James's cases has cause to intrude. It would be unfair to disclose the circumstances by which ' The Nerveless Judge ' is thoroughly unnerved. These must be left to manifest themselves to the listener.
