Quest for Gandhi

on BBC Two England

by Malcolm Muggeridge
How is Gandhi regarded in India today in his centenary year?
How far has his teaching influenced the policies and practice of independent India?
To explore such questions as these Malcolm Muggeridge recently visited some of the places in India closely associated with Gandhi. He talked with students and politicians, as well as with former associates of Gandhi such as his grand-daughter Mrs. Sumitra Kulkarni and the venerable Chakravarti Rajagopalachari. The quest ends at Cape Comorin, where Gandhi's ashes were thrown into the sea.
