The Fall of Milosevic

on BBC Two England

Former president of Yugoslavia Slobodan Milosevic is the first head of state to be tried in an international court for genocide and crimes against humanity. This three-part series documents his decline and fall, and looks at how Nato finally succeeded in overthrowing the dictator.
Defiance. The first programme reveals how Milosevic refused to take any threats to his power seriously, whether from Nato or his own disillusioned electorate. However, while his cronies were fixing local elections, commanders from the Kosovo Liberation Army were busy plotting with the west.
